SJWD offers viable logistics solutions amidst ‘Cambodia Crisis’ Shifting transportation focuses to sea and air Alleviating concerns of supply chain disruption

SCGJWD Logistics Public Company Limited (SJWD) proclaimed the Company’s readiness to provide logistics solutions to meet the needs of customers who have to transport goods into Cambodia, with the offer of sea, air, as well as cross-border transportation services by trucks from adjacent countries during the tightened border control measures between Thailand and Cambodia. Moreover, SJWD also stands ready to coordinate with a network of partners to efficiently disperse goods to their proper destinations in Cambodia while also helping customers to manage costs by negotiating with shipping lines and air freight service providers.
Mr. Bunn Kasemsup, Co-Chief Executive Officer of SCGJWD Logistics Public Company Limited (SJWD), the largest integrated logistics and supply chain service provider in the ASEAN, said that the heightened level of border control measures for entry and exit at all checkpoints between Thailand and Cambodia has resulted in concerns in regard to cross-border transportation of goods to Cambodia. However, the Company has put together transportation service plans in response to the current situation to ensure that customers and those who need to avail of the services can rest assured that their goods will definitely reach their destinations.
During the period of restrictions on the entry of transport vehicles through the Thai-Cambodian border checkpoints, the Company is ready to offer alternative solutions for customers to consider. These include: (1) Sea freight – which is suitable for customers who want to control costs, with two possible routes: Direct shipping to Sihanoukville Port, taking 5-9 days; or Transit shipping via Singapore, which may take 9-14 days; (2) Air freight – a solution most suitable for urgent, or perishable goods; and (3) Road transport as shipped from third countries – in cases where customers can import goods or raw materials from other source-countries other than Thailand, such as shipping from Vietnam through the Company’s logistics partners overland across into Cambodia.
Moreover, the Company has continued to coordinate with its network of partners in Cambodia to efficiently deliver goods to their intended destinations in a timely manner. As of present, products are being distributed in Cambodia as usual. In addition, the Company is focusing on managing transportation costs to reduce the budgetary impact on customers by continually negotiating with shipping lines and air freight service providers.
“Currently, the Company is still providing transport services to Cambodia as usual despite the heightened restrictions. Customers can rest assured that the products will arrive at their destinations efficiently through SJWD’s varied options of logistics solutions to provide the best choice for the customers,” Mr. Bunn concluded.
