‘JWD’ advances to expand investment by partnering with hot Thai startup ‘MyCloudFulfillment’ to provide ‘warehouse fulfillment’ to support e-commerce boom, to leverage long-term joint venture towards strong strategic partnership

JWD InfoLogistics Public Company Limited (JWD) moves forward to expand B2C business by partnering with Thailand’s leading startup, MyCloudFulfillment, to expand into the “warehouse fulfillment” to support customers in online business with the launch of service in the Minburi area in September 2021 to offer integrated storage, packing and delivery services. JWD is investing in storage warehousing and infrastructure while MyCloudFulfillment is responsible for warehousing system, ordering system and warehouse management with software technology which is an important asset that can link up with every online platform as well as data mining to support seamless back office ordering management. It is expected that the bulk of customers will be registered in 2023 with revenue hitting 100 million baht. At the same time the Company is set to enter into a joint venture with MyCloudFulfillment to form a strong partnership with plans to expand service coverage to “cold chain fulfillment” and extend the business into the ASEAN region.

Mr. Charvanin Bunditkitsada, Chairman of the Executive Committee and CEO of JWD InfoLogistics Public Company Limited (JWD), revealed that, according to the Company’s five-year strategic roadmap towards 10 billion baht revenue, the business base needed to be expanded from B2B to B2C as the e-commerce market has an immense opportunity to grow and the demand for warehousing management for merchandise ordered online has kept pace with this growth. Meanwhile, there were still a small number of service providers in this sector and the Company saw the opportunity to venture into the new “warehouse fulfillment” business that provided integrated storage, packing and delivery services through the cooperation with MyCloudFulfillment, the No.1 online service provider to support the needs of online sellers, and entrepreneurs with online distribution channels who have the need to rent storage space, packaging and delivery to the end-customers’ destinations integrally – to help simplify the management of back-office orders and play an essential part in the e-commerce supply chain. It can be said that this cooperation brings together the strengths of both parties to increase the speed of service at full efficiency resulting in delivering services that better meet the needs of customers.

MyCloudFulfillment is a Thai start-up that provides the country’s leading “warehouse fulfillment” service with over six years’ experience through state-of-the-art software to drive business. The company has received the first prize from the “Startup Thailand 2017” project from the National Innovation Agency, and the runner-up award from Siam Commercial Bank’s Digital Ventures project. It is also one of only two Thai startups that have been selected to be in the “Forbes Asia 100 to Watch” list this year.

In this cooperation, the Company has entered into a contract with MyCloudFulfillment to rent JWD fulfillment warehouse in Minburi area with an area of more than 6,000 square meters, while the back-office system for online store management will be operated by MyCloudFulfillment that has the expertise and the good understanding of entrepreneurs who sell their products through online channels. The operations include the order management systems, real-time inventory checks, data analysis useful as valuable information in making business decisions, and to increase sales opportunities, etc. The current capacity is for the processing of up to 30,000 orders per day or 1,000,000 orders per month. “We launched the services at our first fulfillment warehouse in Minburi area on September 1. We have now started offering our services to JWD’s current B2B customer base. The Company has two revenue streams, the first from the rent of the warehouse to MyCloudFulfillment and the revenue from fulfillment service fees from customers. It is expected that in 2022 the fulfillment warehouse business will generate revenue of 50 million baht, representing a service rate of 50 percent. In 2023, the revenue is expected to increase to 100 million baht, representing 100 percent service rate,” said Mr. Charvanin.

This joint venture is in accordance with the Company’s policy to look for investment opportunities with high-potential startup companies that are able to build on JWD’s existing businesses. And the Company sees MyCloudFulfillment as the top Thai startup with the expertise in fulfillment warehouse operations with data analysis that is useful in decision-making by customers who operate online business, and this helps to increase the competitive advantage. The Company has a plan to continue a long-term business cooperation with MyCloudFulfillment by planning to expand the service area and to expand the services to cover cold chain fulfillment both within the country and in the ASEAN region.

Mr. Nithi Satchatippavarn, Chief Executive Officer of MyCloudFulfillment (E-Empowerment Company Limited), stated that, as JWD is a logistics company with extensive experience and high expertise in various industries in Thailand and the ASEAN region, this fact will help to enhance MyCloudFulfillment’s capability to expand warehouse space, enlarge the customer base and upgrade the full range of fulfillment services covering all industries. I firmly believe that in combining the strengths of the two companies, we will be able to create growth together by leaps and bounds.
